A Theater Collective Dedicated to New Works

The Gods of San Francisco

Check out the interview with author Niki Selken on The Rumpus!

Gods of San Francisco is a new one-act musical about an estranged mother and daughter, the men they love, and the Gods they create in the aftermath of the 1906 earthquake. Using original songs, video, and choreography, this dark yet irreverent show explores the personal mythology that binds a tortured flapper and a neurotic housewife across generations. This new work continues the Ko Labs tradition of re-imagining history through a mash-up of modern music, archival imagery, and fantastical storytelling.

The Gods of San Francisco, written by Niki Selken and directed by Shakina Nayfack, with music by Gabriel Gilder and Niki Selken. Starring Danielle Sublett, Niki Selken, Amity Bacon, Zack, Julie Panda and Alan W. Holt.

Ko Labs presents The Gods of San Francisco In association with Footloose and Epic Megalopolis Productions at Shotwell Studios, located at 3252 19th Street in San Francisco, on May 13, 14, 20 and 21.  The show starts at 8pm and will be followed by post-show talkback sessions. Tickets are on a sliding scale of $15 - $20 and available on Brown Paper Tickets.
